I happened to see the live shuttle launch on BBC Breakfast this morning, which was spectacular as usual. However, the whole thing was tainted for me by NASA PR droids using the event as a platform to nauseate us.

The launch, as you might expect, was voiced-over like this:

5... 4... 3... 2... 1... We have lift off, of the space shuttle Endeavour

Unfortunately it didn't end there...

5... 4... 3... 2... 1... We have lift off, of the space shuttle Endeavour, on her mission to where East truely does meet West, at the International Space Station

Sheesh. If that's not enough to put you off your cornflakes and want to rampage through modern society with a chain saw (well, or at least to tut in annoyance at the state of the world) then I don't know what is.
